Welcome to the photo blog of Grace Liu-Anderson. Grace focuses on using available light in creative lifestyle photography. She enjoys photographing babies, children, families, engagements, & weddings. This blog is intended to be a little peek at "behind the scenes" - with a little about everything: sessions, life, family, resources, etc.

BUT historically Grace is a "bad blogger" which means, she doesn't blog often. We apologize for her negligence, but maybe some day she will become a consistent blogger...If you are her friend on facebook, she posts more sneak peeks of sessions on fb than she blogs.

We'd like to hear from you. Please feel free to leave comments and feedback. If you like what you see, contact us! info(at)liu-anderson.com

I really love the holidays. October to December are always full of exciting things. From my bday to Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and then it brings the new year! This year has been especially busy. I have over 15 photo shoots that are unblogged. I'm behind yes...but I'm still here! And finally posting for the 1st time in December.

Thanksgiving we went up to OKC and DFW to visit both sides of our families. It was a really nice trip. Upon returning, we've just been so busy. Between photo shoots, product designs, I've also had violin gigs (which I LOVE and are so fun!) I love music and playing the music of the season. In the past few weeks I've played the Brahms Requiem, Handel's Messiah, Silent Night for Christmas in Portland, and there's more coming up... I hope to attend the Nutcracker with the family this year. Hopefully we'll have time.

It's also always time for new life...I know many friends & have met so many more that are pregnant or given birth this past year. I love new life! It's great!

I will catch up with the photos and hopefully be a blogging fiend by the new year. But for now, I'm working hard on getting everyone's holiday items wrapped up!

Amanda & Ryan Officially Engaged!

Congratulations Amanda & Ryan! I know you've been dying to see your photos.... now that it's official and public...here they are!

These two lovebirds are high school sweethearts. They met back in the day and have been together ever since. Amanda is graduating this December from Texas A&M University (my alma mater! WHOOP!). We managed to serendipitously squeeze in this early morning engagement shoot in College Station. The sunrise cast a beautiful glow on everything.

Of course we had to capture the classic Aggieland landmarks: the entryway to campus - the Systems building with a touch of classical architecture, Northgate, the Dixie Chicken, and of course never forget the parking meters. Parking (or finding a place to park) is always an adventure in Aggieland.

Rachel & Jeffrey Wedding | South Padre Island Wedding

It was a beautiful beach wedding & the reception was held in the open air cafe area. True to their style & personalities, the weekend was spent relaxing and enjoyed in the company of close family & friends. The wedding truly reflected who they are. You could feel the joy in the air and see it in everyone's expressions.

The gals had a blast getting their hair & makeup done at Virginia's Salon, while the guys chilled out back at the hotel. Rachel had her best friends from her career journey as her bridesmaids. For his groomsmen, Jeffrey had his friends that he'd been the best man at their weddings.

The bridesmaids & mom helped Rachel get ready, and we snapped some relaxed portraits at the hotel. The guys were hanging out at the beach in their Tommy Bahama shirts and drawing hearts in the sand.

Isaac got some fun pics of the guys hanging out and waiting. (They're actually doing rock paper scissors to see who would go check on progress of the bride getting ready). And of course a classic cell phone shot for this day and age. Can't be caught w/o a phone - not even on your wedding day!

Rachel & Jeffrey did opt to do a "1st look" before the ceremony, and we captured some of those moments. They got to spend some quiet time together, just the two of them.

The gorgeous sunset radiated on them as they gathered on the beach for their ceremony.

Rachel & Jeffrey entered their reception to the music from Star Wars surprising them. It was a great moment.
